I'm majoring in graphic design (BS), but I'm trying to decide whether I want to minor in advertising or fine arts (with an emphasis in illustration, since illustration minor doesn't exist at my U).
Your area of focus really depends on you. Graphic design is a broader field, so it makes it easier to pair it with a specialty/field that interests you, like illustration for me, or even 3D modeling - from what I see in your gallery.

I'm majored in video game design right now but I plan on switching to either graphic or illustration. Your illustrating abilities are very nice, I'm surprised you aren't studying it yet. I didn't consider minors, so that's a good point, I'm glad you mentioned that. I think I might get my BFA in Graphic Design. After that (if possible) I will get a MA in "Illustration Design" which apparently combines the two. Also if you're interested in what that is here's a link, lol. [link]
